The MSI Katana 15 HX (B14WEK-110IN) is MSI’s mainstream gaming line with a proper HX-class chip: the Intel® Core™ i7-14650HX, 16 cores and 24 threads. It’s paired with an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5050 Laptop GPU (8 GB GDDR7) running at up to 115 W, which is more power than the 5050 gets in thinner laptops.
The 15.6-inch screen is QHD (2560 × 1440) at 165 Hz with 100% DCI-P3 colour, so it’s sharper than the usual Full HD panel and good for photo and video work too. You get 16 GB of DDR5 as two 8 GB sticks in dual channel (up to 96 GB supported) and a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 SSD. There’s only one M.2 slot, so a storage upgrade means swapping the SSD. Ports include HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DisplayPort and charging, three USB-A and Gigabit LAN. It weighs 2.4 kg with a 75 Wh battery and a 240 W charger.
