Lenovo ThinkStation Workstations
Lenovo ThinkStation workstations at YourShoppy cover four jobs: the P2 Tower for CAD and design studios, the P3 Tower Gen 2 with a Core Ultra 9 285K for rendering and simulation, the Xeon-based P5 with ECC memory, and the palm-sized ThinkStation PGX for running AI models locally.
The ThinkStation towers we stock ship with 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 512GB or 1TB SSD and Intel vPro, with PCIe slots and a large power supply ready for the graphics card your software needs. WhatsApp 97392 21133 or 98869 19198 with the software you run and your file sizes, and we’ll suggest a configuration and deliver in Bangalore the same day if you order by 2 PM.
Pick your ThinkStation
Pick a ThinkStation by the size of the jobs you run. Every tower has PCIe slots for a graphics card, Intel vPro, a discrete TPM 2.0 chip and a Kensington lock slot, so the differences are processor class, memory ceiling and power supply. The P2 suits CAD seats, the P3 suits rendering, the P5 suits long simulations, and the PGX is a separate AI box.

ThinkStation P2 Tower Gen 2
- Intel Core Ultra 7 265 or 265K, 20 cores
- Intel W880 chipset, four DDR5 slots, up to 128GB
- 750W Platinum power supply
- Wi-Fi 7 on some models, USB-C 20Gbps on the front

ThinkStation P3 Tower Gen 2
- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, 24 cores, up to 5.7GHz
- Four DDR5 UDIMM or CUDIMM slots, up to 256GB
- 1100W Platinum power supply for high-end GPUs
- Passed MIL-STD-810H tests

ThinkStation P5
- Intel Xeon w3-2425 on the W790 chipset
- Eight DDR5 RDIMM ECC slots, up to 512GB
- 1000W Platinum power supply
- Front diagnostic panel with QR code, chassis intrusion switch

ThinkStation PGX
- NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, 20-core Arm CPU
- 128GB LPDDR5X unified memory, 2TB or 4TB SSD
- ConnectX-7 with two 200Gbps QSFP ports to link two units
- NVIDIA DGX OS, 150 x 150 x 50.5 mm, 1.2 kg
Built for long renders and heavy files
ThinkStation towers are built to run at full load for hours. Lenovo sizes the power supply for a graphics card on each model, at 750W on the P2, 1100W on the P3 and 1000W on the P5, and leaves memory slots free so you can add RAM when projects grow. The P5 adds ECC memory for simulation and data work where a single memory error can stop a run.

Ports on the P2 and P3 Gen 2
The P2 and P3 Gen 2 share the same port layout, so accessories and monitors move between them easily. The front has a 20Gbps USB-C port, four USB-A ports and separate headphone and mic jacks, while the back has HDMI 2.1, two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs from the processor graphics and Gigabit Ethernet. A graphics card adds its own display outputs on top of these.

Front ports, P2 and P3 Gen 2
- 1x USB-C 20Gbps
- 2x USB-A 10Gbps, 2x USB-A 5Gbps
- Headphone and mic combo jack, separate mic jack

Rear ports, P2 and P3 Gen 2
- 2x USB-A 5Gbps, 2x USB-A 2.0
- HDMI 2.1 and 2x DisplayPort 1.4 from the CPU graphics
- Gigabit Ethernet (Intel I219-LM), line-out
Which ThinkStation for your work?
Match the ThinkStation to the software you use most. CAD tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks reward high clock speeds, so the P2 Gen 2 is enough for most seats. Rendering, video and large assemblies use every core, which points to the 24-core P3 Gen 2, and simulation teams that need ECC memory and up to 512GB should choose the Xeon P5.
| You work on | Go for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks parts | P2 Tower Gen 2 | High clock speeds for single-thread CAD work |
| Rendering, video, large assemblies | P3 Tower Gen 2, Core Ultra 9 | 24 cores, up to 256GB, 1100W PSU |
| Simulation, analysis, long data jobs | ThinkStation P5 | Xeon with ECC memory up to 512GB |
| Running LLMs and AI models locally | ThinkStation PGX | 128GB unified memory on NVIDIA GB10 |
| Office with a fixed budget | ThinkStation P2 Tower | Core i7-14700 with room to grow |
ThinkStation specs side by side
This table puts the four ThinkStation models we list next to each other, using figures from Lenovo’s spec sheets. The biggest jumps are in memory ceiling, from 128GB on the P2 to 512GB of ECC memory on the P5, and in power supply size, which decides how large a graphics card each tower can run.
| P2 Tower Gen 2 | P3 Tower Gen 2 | P5 | PGX | |

Good to know before you buy
A few ThinkStation details catch buyers out, so check these before you order. The towers we stock use Intel’s built-in graphics and most ship without Windows, which keeps the base price down for companies that add their own graphics card and volume licence. The PGX is different again, running Linux for AI work.

Do ThinkStation workstations come with a graphics card?
The models we stock use Intel’s built-in graphics and have no discrete card. Each tower has PCIe slots and a large power supply, so you can add an NVIDIA RTX card.
What is the Lenovo ThinkStation PGX used for?
It’s a small AI workstation with the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip and 128GB of unified memory. Developers use it to run, test and fine-tune AI models locally. It runs NVIDIA DGX OS.
Can I connect two ThinkStation PGX units?
Yes. Each PGX has two 200Gbps QSFP ports on its ConnectX-7 network card, made for linking two units to work on larger models.
Does the ThinkStation P5 support ECC memory?
Yes. The P5 uses DDR5 RDIMM ECC memory across eight slots and supports up to 512GB.
Do ThinkStation workstations come with Windows?
Some P2 Tower Gen 2 models include Windows 11 Pro. Most other models ship without an operating system, and the PGX runs NVIDIA DGX OS. We sell Windows 11 Pro licences.
